Kate Studley‘s artistic practice explores the perception of time within the cycles of growth and decay through research into natural materials. Using locally sourced materials such as pine resin, clay, hemp and water the artist creates site- specific installations that embrace the concept of ephemerality. The exhibition, which includes several projects from the last 5 years comprised of installations and sculptural works which react to their environment, thereby visualising time as a lived, non-linear process rather than a static chronology. They adjust and react to their surroundings, slowly decomposing and changing over the course of the exhibition. This invites viewers to experience the passage of time as a movement, dependant on individual perception.

Kate Studley born in Chester UK in 1995 is currently based in Aachen.
